At our chair, various casting processes are regularly used, from sand casting to die casting, in order to cover the entire spectrum of casting processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Various measurement and testing methods are used to analyze and describe casting processes and castings. During the casting process, temperature and sound measurements as well as fiber optic sensors are used for process monitoring in order to directly record thermal and acoustic processes. After casting, non-destructive and destructive testing methods such as ultrasonic testing, modulus of elasticity determinations, fiber optic analyses, instrumented indentation, metallographic examinations, and laser scanning methods enable detailed characterization of material properties and component deformations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additive manufacturing is used in a variety of ways at the Chair of Casting Technology, for example in fixture and model construction, mold production, the development of metrological components, and the construction of experimental test facilities. A CNC table milling machine is also available for mechanical post-processing and the manufacture of test components, supporting flexible and precise production.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-rrze-elements-collapsibles \"><div class=\"accordion\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-rrze-elements-collapse \"><div class=\"accordion-group \"><h2 class=\"accordion-heading\"><button
