The Chair of Casting Technology is offering a varied range of courses in the 2025/26 winter semester, covering both classic fundamentals and modern methods.

Casting Technology 1 (GTK1) teaches the physical and material fundamentals of casting technology – from alloys and heat treatment to sustainability and CO₂ footprint.

The lecture Materials Testing in Primary Forming and Joining Technology (WUF) covers common testing methods, changes caused by primary forming and joining, and the characterization of microstructure and strength.

The lecture Data Acquisition, Processing and Analysis in Manufacturing Engineering and Material Science (DMM) is offered entirely online via the Virtual University of Bavaria (vhb) and combines methods of data processing and statistics with examples from forming and joining technology as well as additive manufacturing.

The seminar Fundamentals of Fluid Modeling with OpenFOAM (FMOF) provides participants with a practical introduction to numerical flow simulations and their evaluation.

The seminar Fundamentals of Python-based data acquisition and optimization (DACOP) introduces modern Python tools for data analysis, optimization, and machine learning.

In the Manufacturing Technology Practicum 1 (FTP1), students can gain practical experience of the entire process chain from CAD design to component testing.
