The LGT develops and optimizes casting technology processes to keep pace with the requirements of production in the 21st century.
Castings represent an essential component of numerous industrial production fields and thus also a vital yet very basic aspect of our everyday lives. The casting processes employed for this purpose allow a very efficient and at the same time resource-saving production of complex components with near net shape.
The main objective of the Institute is to contribute through its own research work to ensure that casting processes continue to keep pace with increasing technological and societal requirements in the future and are regarded as attractive manufacturing processes.
